Top 10 tips to save money!

We all love to save a little cash from here and there so here are 10 of the best tips to help you save!

1. Make sure you stay healthy

One of your best assets is your health. Right now you might think it is great to eat whatever you want and do whatever you want. However, those bad habits could end up costing you later on. The leading cause of bankruptcy in the US is from medical bills!

2. Pay using cash

This one is rather simple. When you spend cash you are actually handing something over in exchange for those goods instead of just swiping your card. Researchers have shown that people who don't use cash end up paying 20% more during a shopping trip.

3. Pay off high interest debt

This is an age old personal finance tip and every personal finance advisor would recommend you do this. High interest debt can really eat away at your standard of living. The more money you spend paying for interest the less of something else you can buy.

4. Don't use a car.

Use the bus/walk/bike. You may think that gas is what is expensive about owning a car. Gas can be very expensive but when you add up all the little expenses like maintenance and the actual purchase of the car you are actually spending thousands and even tens of thousands of dollars to operate a car. Also most cars don't go up in value.

5. Avoid buying and selling of stocks

When you buy and sell stocks you not only have to pay capital gains taxes but also fees to your broker. All those fees add up over time!

6. Don't eat snacks

The nutritional value of snacks is very low and can cause a lot of health problems for you later in life.

7. Cook your own food.

It only takes a couple dollars per day to be able to survive. When you eat out you end up paying 1000%+ more just to eat.

8. Grow your own food.

Food can be really expensive over time. Growing your own food is not only healthy for you but it can save you tons of money in the long haul!

9. exercise

Once again this goes back to the staying healthy part and I cannot stress how important that asset is. 20 minutes of exercise per day can boost your health tremendously.

10. shop around

When you shop around for services and items you will generally be able to spot the deals and save thousands over time. Avoid buying stuff you don't really need.
